INTRODUCTION :
Kings, queens, peasants, landlords, tribal’s, and soldiers were all affected in different ways due to British rule in India. People resisted policies and actions that harm their interests or go against their sentiments. There was a major revolt by the sepoys from Meerut to Delhi where in they tried to suppress British officials. The British officials passed new administrative laws for a more responsible management of Indian affairs, which we will be learning in this chapter.
