Ans:
   The whole day had been rather sad and gloomy for the poet.He was feeling dull and hopeless.After the falling of the dust of snow from the crow his mood changesd.So the poet says he has saved some part of the day as  now for the remaining part of the day his mood got elated  he felt better and was happier. .

All of a sudden a crow came and sat on the hemlock tree.

Ans:
  The poet was standing under the hemlock tree where the fine dust of snow that the crow shook  fell on him from above.

Ans:
  In the poem‘Dust of Snow’ the poet  wants us to understand the way a crow shook down dust of snow on his depressive thoughts.  This action of the crow made him cheerful and brightened the remaining part of his day. So similarly the poet wants to convey to us that sometimes some simple actions can change the mood or life of a person.

:  Before the fall of the dust of snow, the poet thought his day was ruined. He was in a bad mood.  The day was dull  and depressive  for him.But the snow falling on him signalled something good and joyful. His mood changed.
