GRAMMAR ( Active and Passive Voice):

Rules for Change of Voices :

  • Identify the subject, the verb and the object.
  • Change the object into subject.
  • Put the suitable helping verb or auxiliary verb. …
  • Change the verb into past participle of the verb.
  • Add the preposition “by”
  • Change the subject into object.

1. Change the tense from Active voice to Passive voice:

1. He kicks a ball.

Ans: A ball is kicked by him.

2. She will write a poem.         

Ans: A poem will be written by her.

3. She is singing a song.     

Ans: A song is being sung by her.

4. They have watered the plant. 

Ans: The plant have been watered by them.

5. She was singing a song.

Ans: A song was being sung by her.

6. She does not obey her parents.

Ans: Her  parents are not obeyed by her.

7. I told her a story. 

Ans: A story was told to him by me.

8. Will you sell this car.

Ans: Will this car be sold by you?

9. Is Ravi doing his work.

Ans: Is his work done by Ravi?

10. What are you doing in my house?

Ans: What was being done by you in my house?

 

2. Change the tense from Passive to Active.

1. I have not been helped by him.                       

Ans: He has not helped me.

2. Was football being played by the boys?         

Ans:Were the boys playing football.

3. When shall we be seen by the doctor?                           

Ans: When will the doctor see us.

4. The car was chased by the dog.

Ans: The dog chased the car

5. Was this novel written by you?                                  

Ans: Did you write this novel?

6. The pen was given to him by whom?                      

Ans: Who gave him the pen?

7. Why is the time wasted by you?                                 

Ans: Why do you waste the time?

8. He will  be defeated by me.                           

Ans: I will  defeat him.

9. What was bought by her?                                      

Ans: What did she buy?

10. The match was won by my team .              

Ans: My team  won the match.
