Notice Writing
Points:
- A Notice is meant to provide important information to the concerned people or public in general in about 50 words.
- Content, expression, coherence and relevance of the content presented is extremely important. Content comprises mention of event, date/ time/ venue and any other details e.g. last date etc. Format comprises school/institute name, the word NOTICE, header date, writer’s name and designation.
- It must provide 5 points of information.
- A well written notice must inform the readers about the 5 W’s

Where it will take place.
When it will take place.
Who can apply for it.
- The information given in the notice must be clear and should not cause any misunderstanding or confusion.
- Heading must be catchy and appealing so that it attracts the reader’s attention at once.
1. Regina Mundi School, Chicalim is organising an Inter – section Music competition for class IX. As the cultural secretary of your school draft a notice in about 50 words for the school notice board giving necessary details.
